Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 July 2026
This policy explains how WORLD STUDY LTD ("World Study", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit this website, use our "Check Your Options" quiz, email us, or message us on WhatsApp.
1. Who we are
World Study is operated by WORLD STUDY LTD, a private limited company registered in the United Kingdom under company number 13180201, with its registered office at:
71-75 Shelton Street,
London,
Greater London,
United Kingdom,
WC2H 9JQ
WORLD STUDY LTD is the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy. For any privacy question or request, contact lebanon@worldstuddyy.com.
2. Information you may provide to us
Depending on how you interact with us, you may provide us with information including:
- Your first name and email address — required to unlock your quiz results when you use the "Check Your Options" quiz.
- Your quiz answers — study level, field of study, grades band, budget band, English level, timeline, and country of residence. These are processed in your browser and are not submitted to us.
- Your contact details — such as a WhatsApp number or email address, if you choose to message or email us directly.
- Anything you write to us directly — for example, in an email, a WhatsApp message, or a contact form on this website.
We do not ask for passport numbers, financial account details, or other sensitive documents through this website, and you should never send these to us by email or WhatsApp.
3. How the options quiz works
The "Check Your Options" quiz runs entirely in your browser. Your answers are used, on your device, to calculate a starting shortlist of study destinations — this calculation is a simple, rules-based comparison, not artificial intelligence, and it is never a guarantee of admission, a visa, or a scholarship. Your quiz answers and recommendations remain in your browser at all times and are not submitted to us or to any third party.
To unlock and view your personalised shortlist, you are asked to provide your first name and email address. These are submitted directly to World Study and stored in our CRM (HubSpot), which holds data in the European Union (Germany). We use these details to provide you with your results, to respond to your enquiry, and to manage reasonable follow-up.
After your results are unlocked, you may also choose to open WhatsApp using the "Continue on WhatsApp" button. Doing so opens WhatsApp with a pre-filled message containing your quiz answers and your first name, which you can read and edit before you decide whether to send it. If you do not press that button, your quiz answers remain only in your browser.
4. How we use your information
We use the information you provide to:
- Respond to your enquiries and questions;
- Provide study-abroad guidance relevant to your situation;
- Keep a record of enquiries and conversations so our team can follow up helpfully (managing leads);
- Improve our website, our quiz, and the guidance we offer; and
- Meet our legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations.
5. Lawful bases for processing
Depending on the activity, we rely on the following lawful bases under UK data protection law:
- Collecting your first name and email address when you unlock your quiz results, and using those details to provide your results, respond to your enquiry, and manage reasonable follow-up: our legitimate interests in providing the service you have requested and operating our business.
- Responding to other enquiries you send us (by email or WhatsApp) and keeping a record of that contact: our legitimate interests in responding to prospective students and operating our service.
- Keeping legal, accounting, or regulatory records: our legal obligations.
- Website analytics: your consent, given through our cookie banner and withdrawable at any time via "Cookie Settings" in the footer. We do not use marketing or advertising cookies.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, you have the right to object to that processing — see "Your rights" below.
6. HubSpot — our CRM
We use HubSpot as our customer relationship management (CRM) system. When you unlock your quiz results, your first name and email address are submitted directly to HubSpot and stored as a contact record. If you also contact us by WhatsApp, email, or a contact form on this website, details of those conversations may also be recorded in HubSpot. HubSpot stores this information in data centres located in the European Union (Germany).
Your quiz answers and calculated recommendations are not submitted to HubSpot. They remain in your browser and are only included in a WhatsApp message if you choose to open, review, and send it yourself.
7. Other service providers
Information may also be processed by:
- HubSpot — our CRM, described above.
- Cloudflare — our website hosting and infrastructure provider, which handles standard technical data (such as request and security logs) needed to run the website reliably.
- Google — we use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics (GA4) for website-usage analytics only, and only after you grant analytics consent through our cookie banner. We do not use these or any other Google tool for advertising, remarketing, or personalisation, and we do not run Google Ads or similar campaigns. We do not intentionally send your name, email address, quiz answers, WhatsApp message content, or other form values to Google. After you grant analytics consent, Google Analytics may automatically collect website-usage, session, browser/device, approximate-location (derived from your IP address), and online-identifier (cookie/client ID) information, as is standard for web analytics tools. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time using "Cookie Settings" in the footer — see "8. Cookies and consent" below.
- WhatsApp / Meta — if you choose to message us on WhatsApp, that conversation is carried over WhatsApp's own service, operated by Meta.
We do not currently send marketing emails or use any advertising cookies. A first-party cookie remembering your analytics choice is set once you save an Accept or Reject decision through our cookie banner; a first-party Google Analytics cookie is set only if and after you accept analytics.
8. Cookies and consent
This website uses two kinds of cookies:
- Necessary cookie — remembers your cookie choice (accepted or rejected analytics) so we don't ask again on every visit. This cookie is set once you save an Accept or Reject decision through our cookie banner, and does not require your consent because it is strictly necessary for this purpose.
- Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics only after you accept analytics through our cookie banner. These help us understand how visitors use the site in aggregate. They are never used for advertising, remarketing, or personalisation.
You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of every page. Rejecting or withdrawing analytics consent stops further Google Analytics measurement.
9. International processing
Some of the service providers listed above may process information outside the United Kingdom — for example, WhatsApp/Meta may process messages in the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards recognised under applicable UK data-protection law.
10. How long we keep your information
Contact records created when you unlock your quiz results (first name and email address) are retained for 12 months after the last meaningful interaction, then deleted or anonymised. Records relating to an active service relationship, an unresolved enquiry, or a legal or regulatory obligation may be retained for longer where necessary.
For other personal information — such as records of email or WhatsApp conversations — we keep it only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. We periodically review the information we hold and remove or anonymise it once it is no longer needed.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold, including relying on reputable infrastructure and CRM providers (Cloudflare and HubSpot) with their own security safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information appropriately.
12. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Ask us to delete your information, in certain circumstances;
- Withdraw consent at any time, where our processing relies on your consent;
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing; and
- Ask us to provide certain information in a portable format.
To exercise any of these rights, contact lebanon@worldstuddyy.com.
13. Complaints
If you have concerns about how we handle your personal information, please contact us first at lebanon@worldstuddyy.com so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk.
14. Contact us
For any question about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, contact lebanon@worldstuddyy.com.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example as our services change. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page whenever we make changes. Please check back periodically.
